Quickstart

Use the Beam desktop app and session flow with the current product.

Beam’s current desktop app is built around a relay-first setup. The operator shares a generated connection ID, can review recent sessions, and can adjust connection settings for relay or direct environments.

Operator flow

  • Launch the Beam desktop app on Windows.
  • On the Home screen, copy the generated address shown under Your Address.
  • Use Start hosting to make the current screen available for the session.
  • Share the connection ID or route the session through your own product using the Beam API.
  • Use Recent sessions to reconnect quickly to prior session IDs.

Viewer flow

Beam is designed so viewers can join through a browser-facing flow backed by Beam’s signaling, relay, and WebRTC services. The public landing page links to the docs and API because the viewer experience is intended to be embedded and product-controlled rather than routed through a generic third-party app.
